Canada's AI automation agencies

Canadian agencies selling AI automation to small and mid-sized firms are small, recent and concentrated in southern Ontario; most publish a free audit and a project price between $3K and $35K CAD.

The typical Canadian agency

Of 22 Canadian agencies profiled in this research, about nine are in Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area or southern Ontario. Calgary has three, Vancouver and the rest of British Columbia three, Montreal one, Ottawa one and the Prairies (Regina) one. (Our count of the agencies we profiled, not a census.)

The typical firm has one to ten people and was founded between 2023 and 2026, usually by one founder. Very few publish revenue, funding or headcount; where headcount appears, it comes from directory listings such as Clutch and LinkedIn that the firms fill in themselves. The usual offer is a free 30-minute audit or call, followed by a build on n8n, Make or Zapier plus an LLM: lead follow-up, AI receptionists, invoice processing, document chasing, CRM updates, reporting.

Typical published prices: projects of $3,000 to $35,000 CAD, hourly rates of $100 to $175, retainers of $500 to $2,500 a month.

Builts AI

Builts AI is based in Etobicoke and was started in 2025 according to LinkedIn. It says it has automated operations for 20+ businesses. Its homepage headline is "Your Support Team Is Answering Questions AI Should Handle." and it says "You own everything. No lock-in." and "We start with your numbers, revenue, margins, bottlenecks, before touching anything."

It markets mainly through search. It runs a large blog and many industry and use-case pages, including onboarding pages for mortgage brokers and immigration consultants. Its case studies include a career college (response time under 60 seconds, enrolment up 34% at 90 days) and a solo tax practice. A founder blog post reports medians from 50+ builds (payback 4.2 months, year-one ROI 340%) without describing the method.

True North Agentics

True North Agentics is a Toronto consultancy, a business of Parallel North Inc. Its homepage headline is "Turn one manual workflow into a controlled AI system." It lists no named clients, and its case-study figures are labelled as modelled, using an assumed loaded cost of $75 an hour, not as measured results. Its delivery is written-first, and it says "No discovery call required."

Its distinctive channel is a reseller programme: accounting, bookkeeping, fractional-CFO and IT firms can deliver its services under their own brand. Prices appear only on that partner page. The Evidence Pack is credited in full to a pilot started within 30 days. The only guarantee is a 30-day defect warranty.

ChatGPT.ca

ChatGPT.ca describes itself as an independent Canadian consultancy, not affiliated with OpenAI. It sells fixed-price tiers, with 50% paid upfront and 50% on delivery for projects above $5,000. It says "Everything we build belongs to you, forever" and offers a 90-day payback guarantee on its smallest tier. Its home page claims 100+ custom GPTs and 50+ implementations. It runs hundreds of templated city pages, and its blog includes a ranked list of Canadian AI consultants in which it places itself first. Its blog gives a range of $2,500 to $35,000 for boutique practitioners in Canada and $5,000 to $15,000 for a typical small-business project.

Liboiron, FlowNorth and The Automators

Liboiron says "We use a results-guaranteed compensation model, so you pay for outcomes, not hours." Its site shows named clients with before-and-after numbers (for example an emergency mobilisation time cut from two hours to one) and 75+ projects delivered. The terms of its model are not published.

FlowNorth, a Toronto agency run by IntelicoreAI, offers voice agents, n8n workflows and consulting. Its homepage shows no client names or case studies.

The Automators say "Build it once. Own it." and "You own the code, the accounts, and the credentials at hand-off." They report 30+ businesses served and publish city landing pages for Canadian cities and 90+ US cities.

Patterns across the Canadian agencies

  • Ownership. Several say the client owns what is built: ChatGPT.ca, The Automators, Aurora Designs and Builts AI, each in its own words.
  • Guarantees. Payment tied to outcomes is rare. Liboiron states it. BotLogix says "If we don't deliver real value by end of day, you don't pay" for its one-day Strategy Day. ChatGPT.ca offers a payback guarantee on one tier. True North offers a defect warranty.
  • Baselines. Most agencies show before-and-after numbers; few describe measuring a starting point. Taycon AI (Vancouver) lists "Baseline vs. post-deployment metrics" among its pilot deliverables, and Builts AI says it starts with the client's numbers.
  • Proof. Named clients are uncommon. Liboiron and Builts AI show some; True North and FlowNorth show none.

Vertical software from Canada

Product vendors, not agencies, also sell AI to Canadian professional firms. Quandri (Vancouver, insurance renewals) reported a $12M Series A in 2025. The Atwell Group (Toronto) sells to boutique and mid-size law firms: a CAD $6,300 audit, then pilot sprints from CAD $23,500.
