How this research was made

What was collected, from where, how every quote and number was checked, and where the scan stops.

Snapshot: collected 26 October 2026, checked 26–27 October 2026.

What was collected

  • Scope: companies that sell AI automation, or AI inside software, to businesses in the US, Canada and Mexico, from enterprise implementers down to one-person studios; plus the buyers: adoption statistics, surveys, public programs and what owners say in their own words.
  • Sources: company websites, pricing and partner pages, funding announcements and press, government statistics (StatCan, ISED, US Census), industry surveys (CFIB, Clio, Bloomberg Law, Big "I"), directories, and public owner discussions on Reddit.
  • Volume: 25 research files with company data, 1,277 company mentions, over 300 companies profiled. 31 get a full page; the rest a short one.
  • Homepages: 14 company homepages taken apart section by section.
  • Buyer voice: 108 owner quotes from Reddit, gathered through a public archive and trimmed to about 125 characters. No usernames are shown.

How it was checked

Quotes from companies. Every vendor quote shown on this site was matched, as text, against the raw HTML of the page it comes from. A quote that did not match was dropped, never reworded.

  • First pass across the scan: 410 of 438 quotes matched.
  • Full company pages: 250 quotes, headlines and price lines checked; the 222 that matched are shown as quotes, the rest (mostly price summaries) are shown as plain text with their source.
  • Short company pages: 308 quotes and price lines checked; 291 matched and are shown, 17 dropped.
  • Homepage teardowns: 21 of 22 cited lines matched; the one that didn't is not quoted.

Numbers about companies. Every number on a full company page (revenue, funding, valuation, headcount, customers, prices) was re-opened at its source on 26–27 October 2026:

  • 202 numbers and price lines re-checked: 129 confirmed as stated, 51 confirmed in part and cut down to the confirmed part, 3 different on the source and corrected to the source's value, 19 not on the page or the page unreachable, and dropped.
  • Each number shows who it comes from: the company itself (including a founder quoted in the press), the press (a reported round, deal or event), or a third party (an estimate by a directory or data aggregator). A company's own revenue claim stays a claim, even when a newspaper repeats it.
  • Short company pages carry no numbers.

Numbers on topic pages and the home page. Every number on these pages was traced to a source URL and re-opened on 27 October 2026:

  • 525 numeric claims: 420 confirmed (90 of them already checked earlier), 34 corrected to the source's value, 26 confirmed at a different source that is now cited, 31 removed because no source confirmed them.
  • Counts made by this research itself (for example "13 of 19 studies", "8 of 13 vendors") have no outside source by nature; they are labelled as our counts.
  • Owner quotes from Reddit were gathered through a public archive and are cited by community and month; individual threads are not linked, to avoid exposing people.

Market statistics. 58 key market numbers were re-fetched from their sources: 44 confirmed, 4 derived figures recalculated, 6 corrected (they had changed or were misread), 3 sit in PDFs the check could not open, 1 source was blocked.

Where the scan stops

  • Coverage is broad, not exhaustive. Search capacity ran out partway; some Clutch, G2, Capterra and Reddit pages were blocked.
  • Client reviews on Clutch could not be collected: the site blocks automated access.
  • Private agencies' revenue is almost all self-reported or unknown. Treat those figures as marketing.
  • Admin-hour figures for mortgage and immigration come mostly from vendors. Only law (Bloomberg Law, Clio) and insurance (Big "I") have survey data.
  • Not researched: direct willingness-to-pay surveys (none credible found), and Facebook, LinkedIn and Skool communities by niche.
  • Snapshot. Prices, team sizes and funding change fast. Everything here is as of October 2026.
